Euro Series Wackersdorf was a weekend of what could have been for George Clark and Fusion Motorsport. From the first laps on Friday, the pace and set-up were outstanding, proving the team’s preparation was right on target.
Qualifying and Heats at Euro Series Wackersdorf
Qualifying delivered the perfect start. George secured pole position, showing he had the speed to lead the field at Euro Series Wackersdorf. In Heat 1, he made a clean start and held the lead early, eventually crossing the line P3 after a close battle at the front.
Heat 2 followed a similar story. George started from pole again and ran strong laps, but a few small mistakes and tough racing saw him finish P4. Heat 3 was almost identical, with George again holding a top position in the early stages and ending P4. Despite the results slipping just outside the podium in the heats, the consistent speed kept him among the leaders overall.
Superheat and Final
On Sunday, George started the Superheat in P3. He delivered a smooth and focused drive, moving up to P2 at the finish, which set up a strong grid spot for the Final. Lining up in P3, George and Fusion Motorsport were ready to fight for a podium result.
Unfortunately, a messy start in the Final saw George drop back in the early laps. He showed strong pace to recover positions but ultimately ran out of time to catch the front group. Crossing the line in P5 felt frustrating given the weekend’s early speed, but there were still plenty of positives to take.
Looking Ahead
The experience of racing at Euro Series Wackersdorf, with such a competitive field, will help George Clark and Fusion Motorsport build momentum for the next round. Pole position, fast laps, and valuable lessons all contributed to progress that will pay off in the rest of the season.
